Original oil paintings of Ireland's lighthouses by Marie Kelly, a Contemporary Irish landscape and seascape painter working from Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan. Many are painted en plein air on the headland itself, in the weather and the light of the day.

Fastnet Lighthouse (Larger Study)

A larger, more contemplative study of the Fastnet Lighthouse off the West Cork coast. The greater scale allows the soft pink sky and the deep swell of the Atlantic room to breathe — a quieter, more atmospheric companion to the smaller Fastnet piece.

Hook Head, Co. Wexford
Hook Lighthouse is around 800 years old and one of the oldest intact operational lighthouses in the world. Marie painted it en plein air on the headland during Wexford Art in the Open, working directly from the light on the black-and-white tower and the stubble field running down to the sea.
Fastnet Rock, Co. Cork
The Fastnet stands alone off the West Cork coast, Ireland's most southerly outpost and the last sight of home for generations who emigrated. Marie paints it pale against a soft evening sky, with the Atlantic surging turquoise below.
Fanad Head, Co. Donegal
Fanad Head Lighthouse sits above a green headland on the wild Donegal coast, its white tower and keepers' cottages framed by the Atlantic breaking over the rocks beneath.
Balbriggan, Co. Dublin
The historic Balbriggan Lighthouse on the north Dublin coast — a study in stillness and storm, holding its ground while the Irish Sea breaks white around it.
