Local Landscapes
Original oil paintings of the local landscape by Marie Kelly, an artist based in Monaghan, living and working in Carrickmacross. The drumlins, forests, coast and uplands of her home counties are a constant subject — the light on Rossmore Forest Park, the woodland streams of Dún a Rí, the sea at Clogherhead and the sheep-dotted slopes of the Cooley Mountains.

Monaghan
Marie's home county — drumlin country
Monaghan is drumlin country: soft, rounded hills of green rising between lakes and hedgerows. Marie paints the familiar views of her home county, from the rhododendron paths of Rossmore Forest Park to the quiet lanes of north Monaghan. Rossmore holds a special pull — she has repainted it for collectors who grew up walking its trails.

Cavan
Forests, lakes and the old bridge at Dún a Rí
Cavan is a patchwork of drumlins, lakes and deep forest. Dún a Rí Forest Park near Kingscourt, with its old footbridge over the Cabra stream, is one of Marie's favourite places to paint en plein air — golden light spilling across the water beneath the trees.

Co. Louth packs a remarkable range of scenery into a small county — the golden coast at Clogherhead, where a wave breaks open over the sea, and the ancient Cooley peninsula, where sheep graze the mountainsides above Carlingford under huge skies.
